The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is conducting information and education campaign (IEC) on geologic hazard (geohazard) to minimize if not avoid widespread damage or loss of property and life.

“We orient LGUs, NGOs, and barangay officials for basic education on geohazard and situation in their respective areas”, said Cenro Bagac Senior Geologist Rowena B. Margallo.

“We distribute pamphlets about geohazard and now Mines and Geoscience Bureau (MGB) has already produced reading materials in dialects in some areas of the country”, she added.

DENR also give geohazard maps to barangays.

Geohazard include landslide, flood, earthquake, storm surge, and volcanic eruption among others.
